We were delighted to welcome music pioneer Greg Wilson, whose musical exploration and influence spans the 70’s to present day.
Greg began DJ-ing in 1975 and is renowned for being the primary influence in the UK’s love affair with electro-funk. His story is phenomenal and we cannot do it justice here but let’s just state that Greg was resident at Wigan Pier, had the first DJ residency at The Hacienda, was the first DJ to mix live on UK television, compiled the seminal ‘Classic Electro Mastercuts’ compilation and was nominated in 2008 for his outstanding contribution to dance music by DJ Magazine (and named in the Top 20 remixers of all time). His edits and mixes continue to enthral, thrill and receive universal acclaim.
The beauty of Chinwag is the sharing of insights, stories, ideas and often from a very personal place. Greg shared some very personal experiences about the pitfalls of working creatively and how it can affect psychological wellbeing, as well as getting deep into the synchronistic nature of creativity and connection. A truly insightful Chinwag.
